Sterling Silver Japanese Samurai Era " Kaei Isshugin (1 shu)" Coin Pendant or Earrings

from $95.00

So I’m kind of a big coin collector type of guy, have been my whole life. Also a huge fan of feudal Japan Samurai culture, so when I found a supplier of these actual Isshugin (1 shu) silver coins minted in the the mid 1800s, well I knew I had to make some pretty cool jewelry out of them. Keeping true to nature of their creation Ive cast these adorable little frames in the shape of a Pagoda. They hold the original 1 shu coins with pressure from a 4 prong setting so to not only retain the coin, but also their historical and numismatic value..

These little Silver coins are from the Emperor Komei period of 1846-1867 AD and were minted between the years 1853-1865 AD. The obverse bears the incuse marks and 4 marks translated to, Guaranteed, Ginza (Silver Mint), and Joze (Mint Official), all surrounded by a pearl border. The reverse translation is : one (1), Shu, Silver. The were made from .968 Sterling Silver. They have Vertical reeding on short sides and slanted reeding on long sides. These coins have been demonetized in Japan.

Each Pagoda frame pendant comes with a 1 shu coin already set in place. Earrings come as a pair of 2 with ear-wires attached. Note: each and every one of these little coins are different as they were all hand stamped. These beautiful little pendants fit both my 2mm Rope Chains and 3mm Curb Chains (pictured). I like the Rope Chains buts that’s just me! They are not included in the price but are available in different sizes her on my site.
